Green Living Quark & Buttermilk Kit
Green Living Quark & Buttermilk Kit
Green Living Australia Quark & Buttermilk kit is a Beginner Cheese Kit, ideal for those with no cheese making experience.
Quark is the next big thing in nutrition. Unless you’ve lived in particular parts of Europe you would never have heard of it. Quark is a fresh dairy product, popular in German-speaking countries, Slavic countries, and northern Europe. Despite having a very similar texture and appearance to Greek yoghurt, Quark is not a yoghurt. Quark can range from 1% to 40% fat which depends on the milk product used by the cheese maker. The remainder is protein (80% of this protein is Casein), Calcium, and Phosphate. Quark even though it looks like Greek yoghurt is much higher in protein. It may have up to double the protein of Greek yoghurt.
Go to the store, get 2 litres of whole milk, and 36 hours later, you will have about a kilo of the most beautiful home made quark.
You are required to inoculate the milk with culture when it is 31° C, and monitor the temperature to ensure it does not drop below 22° C, during the next 24 hours, so you will need a thermometer.
Enough ingredients in the kit to make about 80 to 100 kilos of Quark!
